OVERVIEW

Technology faculties are a new faculty model in Turkey, and with this decision, twenty-one Technology faculties were established. There are engineering departments within the Faculties of Technology, which were established to train engineers with high application skills needed by the industry. The engineering curriculum trains students to express the title of "Engineering," and the teaching staff is organized accordingly. Technology faculty, which has a different structure from the curricula of other engineering faculties, sets a mission for its students to improve their application skills and increase their practical knowledge and adopts a study system in this direction. In terms of theoretical courses, in the Faculty of Technology, which has an equivalent curriculum to other engineering departments and has an engineering curriculum with the aim of gaining practical skills and practical knowledge, students receive seventy-two (72) days of industrial internship in the summer term and also one semester (8th semester) of vocational training in business. The diplomas of the graduates of the Faculty of Technology are also stated as “… Graduated from the Engineering Department.” Engineers who graduated from the Faculty of Technology can also become members of the chambers of engineers affiliated with the Union of Chambers of Architects and Engineers of Turkey. Graduate (Master + Doctorate) education in engineering departments of the Faculty of Technology is organized in the same way as in engineering faculties.
